What makes Aurum LARP Super Special

There aren’t many LARPs quite like Aurum. It takes place in the world of Sha’uru, which was once like many fantasy worlds. But then a revolutionary fuel called Aurum was discovered, plunging Sha’uru’s humans, elves, dwarves, goblins and orcs into the age of steam-powered machines. With magic dying and medieval kingdoms adapting to a steampunk/cyberpunk realm, it’s unique beyond measure.

The LARP World And Setting

Thrust into a new age of progress (and with many once-great fantasy beasts and magics now all but extinct), the great world powers of humanity and remnants of the dwarves and goblins (trade and mercantile syndicates) the pressure is on to constantly keep finding new sources of Aurum.

Now, a new continent has been discovered – ripe for the taking. And you are tasked to go forth and capture resources and land for the syndicates and kingdoms.

How To Create A Character For Aurum

Aurum is a unique steampunk/gaslamp LARP, so your character might be quite different from the normal high fantasy LARPing you’re used to. The team put a lot of effort into unique events and experiences that advance the story in this world, so best to create a character that really fits, for max enjoyment.

How Much Does It Cost?

A full-weekend pass is $55 if you pre-register ($60 at the door), and one-day passes are $30 ($35). You have options to buy extras like bonus XP and such. And food and drink costs are usually around $8 per meal (but it varies).

There is a dedicated space to register and get tickets, but it’s advisable to also inform the organisers beforehand via their website because there are some rules & policies to consider and pre-game forms to fill in. There’s also a Facebook Group to join and engage with players and team members.

Normally takes place at Quail Hill Scout Reservation, 56 La Valley Dr at Manalapan Township in New Jersey, US. But there is a second location at Camp Sacajawea South, 242 Adelphia Rd, Farmingdale in New Jersey – so just double check where exactly before you go.
