Elves, sun gods, alien survivors, vampires and more. Garden of Destinies is a truly multi-genre live-action roleplaying (LARP) game in Tennessee and Georgia in the US. Choose a character and play them transported out of their comfort zone into a mysterious new realm – plus: first-time players play for free.

What makes Garden of Destinies LARP super special

Your character interacts across genres! It’s not easy to blend genres in LARP, but Garden of Destinies does it brilliantly simply with its premise. The Garden is a mysterious in-between space that connects to 9 different worlds (where characters from different genres might hail from)

All player characters are somehow trapped in this in-between world and must engage with characters from very different spheres. Not to mention forge an entirely new destiny – we’re not sure if you’ll ever see your homeland again, so might as well forge a new destiny right here.

The LARP World And Setting

All characters come from different realms, and it’s quite diverse.

From high fantasy to steampunk, pagan lore, urban fantasy (complete with vampires and werewolves), sci-fi survival, elemental, low fantasy – each realm origin gives its characters certain unique powers and inclinations. But everyone is kinda trapped in the Garden. So the interplay between these is what it’s all about.

How To Create A Character For Garden of Destinies

Since individual origins are so vital to the story, you start by creating your character’s concept and backstory first. This goes into a central wiki, from where you’ll be prompted to choose feats etc. There’s a complete guide to it all right here.

How Much Does It Cost?

One-day events are around $25 (meals included), while multi-day events run around $65 with meals. But you can save a whole whack by opting for a subscription, which breaks it up into 12x $30 monthly payments for the whole year – sub before 10 Jan, though.

And, if you’re travelling 300 or more miles to an event, you get a $15 dollar distance discount. Nice.

If you’re planning to attend, there’s a pre-game sign-up form to complete and a dedicated payments page with all the info you need to register. Note: There’s also a financial hardship fund for helping out fellow players, and you can donate toward it or apply for some assistance.

What is LARPing?
