Probably the No 1 reason to try LARPing and one of the best-known US LARPs. Lands Of Exile LARP

Empire LRP – Autumn Equinox

Possibly the biggest and best-known LARPs in June, if not the world, then at least the UK. Empire LRP is a festival LARP happening four times a year and drawing in an amazing crowd of players from all around. The 9 distinct cultures that make up the world of Empire are constantly vying for power – hence the skirmishes – while high mages converse with the Eternals from the 6 adjourning panes of existence to try and get their homestead the upper hand. LARPs with chapter hopping! Set in the medieval fantasy world of Fortannis, with oathsworn, dryads, dwarves, elves, ogres, orcs and more, this is an event of the Denver chapter of the multi-chapter LARP guild, Alliance. Complete with character creation, high-actin battle or quiet merchant life – play as you choose – and fairly traditional RPG rules and gameplay. But what sets it apart is chapter-hopping: Alliance has over 11 chapters around the US and Canada, and you’re allowed to port your character to any other Alliance event.

Herofest LARP

A fun-filled and balanced weekend of LARPing. Described as the ultimate mix of LARP festival and campaign, Herofest is a low-hit PvP system, which means that, yes, there’s a fleshed-out LARP world and campaign, but you are not bogged down with story stuff too much during the event itself. At Herofest, you join one of 12 factions in the world of Orin Rakatha, and your actions will decide the story in-between events. Alliance Crossroads (XR)

Possibly the best-known and loved chapter if Alliance LARP, Alliance Crossroads is the Tennessee chapter of this high-fantasy LARP with chapter-hoping across the US and Canada. A recent new element of the campaign is a growing dark power from within the Wyldes of Kosmara. There are monsters everywhere, and nearby settlements risk losing everything. The call has sounded throughout Fortannis; you are summoned to help before the Wyldes are lost forever at Alliance Crossroads.

Calamity! A Weird West LARP

Age Of Essence

What is LARPing?
