A Thai foreign film with English subtitles on Netflix, Love Destiny: The Movie is the sequel to the two Love Destiny TV drama series from circa 2018. But it’s almost 200 years after those events, yet the characters have been reincarnated into 19th-century Thailand, this time under threat of colonisation by England and France. Can they find each other again?

Blueback

Not so much sci-fi as just a calm and beautiful underwater adventure to start us off with. Shot and produced in Australia in 2022, this is the international release of Blueback, a story of a young girl who befriends a grouper, a large and long-lived species of reef fish. But the reef and her friend are under threat, so little Abby has to turn activist to stand up for what she believes in, in Robert Connolly’s Blueback.

The Magic Flute
