Watch: All-new Futurama, Twisted Metal, Superman and loads of anime – these are the most anticipated new sci-fi series in July 2023
New Fry and Bender (after 10 years!), cars with Gatling guns and crazy post-apocalyptic adventures. There’s not much in the way of traditional science fiction series this month on Netflix, Disney+, Adult Swim, Hulu and Peacock. But there are a lot of new anime, animations and unique shows among the new sci-fi series in July 2023.

My Adventures with Superman

Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead, Season 1

To celebrate the upcoming live-action Netflix movie adaptation (2 August) of the quirky Haro Aso Japanese manga series, Netflix and Hulu are streaming the animated series in July. A disillusioned office worker questions his humdrum life until a zombie apocalypse re-awakens a fire and passion in his soul. So he creates a bucket list of things he wants to do before he dies – amidst the madness of a zombie-infested city, in Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead.

Futurama Season 8

10 years after the finale of the infamous and controversial seventh season, the original creators are back with an all-new Hulu edition of Futurama. This time, they convert the “Planet Express” into an airline, Bender makes mini copies of himself (and haints Fry for a bit), while Fry decides to run off and join the police academy – plus so much more episodic madness in Futurama Season 8.

And, basically, if you’re a fan of the classic episodic Star Trek series, you’ll love Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 2.

Secret Invasion

It’s here! Marvel’s Secret Invasion is the story of disgraced former SHIELD (from the Avengers) director Nick Fury who discovers a secret conspiracy of super aliens (Skrulls) that have infiltrated Earth and taken up various positions of power in an attempt to invade and conquer. Problem is the Skrulls have data on all the former Avengers, and it’s impossible to tell if any new heroes are actually from Earth or Skrull replicas in Marvel’s Secret Invasion.
